First Responders
Bob recognizes that being exposed to high-stress and often disturbing situations on a regular basis can be emotionally distressing to first responders and investigators. The quality of life of the people he works with is especially important to Bob. His own personal journey dealing with PTSD has made him truly grateful for the sound leadership provided by his superiors and the support provided by his family and friends which allowed him to get through the most challenging times. He realizes that quality leaders draw from their experiences and strive to educate themselves to facilitate the highest quality of life possible for the people they serve with. Bob has attempted to help others as a member of the Columbus Police Peer Assistance Team, The Columbus Police Employee Action Review Committee, and as a Fraternal Order of Police Grievance Representative. These experiences have given him the leadership skills to help first responders and investigators in Perry County.
Our Families & Community
Bob understands that mental health challenges and addictions affect families in communities everywhere. His family too, has experienced triumph and tragedy, amazing recovery, and devastating loss. Bob believes we are all in this fight together, with law enforcement leading the way. The Office of the Sheriff should be “The Tip of the Spear” in seeing to compassionate care for those who suffer and the successful apprehension and prosecution of those who prey upon them.
Bob has been well-trained in this arena, having served with the Columbus Police Hostage Negotiation Team and the Columbus Police Crisis Intervention Team.
