Bob’s Family

Bob’s late father John was Marine Corps Veteran and a firefighter with the Dayton, Ohio Fire Department for over 30 years. John set the example of service to Country and Community, integrity, and the importance of surrounding oneself with honorable people.

Bob’s Mother, Jean, served the Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati in various capacities and the School Boards of the local Catholic Elementary and High Schools.

John and Jean were married for over 60 years and raised Bob, his oldest sister Kathy, his older sister Mary Ann, and his younger brother, Dan, who passed away in 2010.

Bob has three daughters,

Lindsey, an exceptional soccer player, was the captain of the Columbus Crew Juniors Women’s Gold Soccer Team, one of the premier club soccer teams in Ohio at the time, and started as a forward on her star-studded High School team. A National Honor Society Student, Lindsey was recruited to play soccer for multiple Division II and III schools but elected to hang up her cleats, accepting a S.T.E.M. Scholarship at The Ohio State University. She went on to graduate with a degree in Psychology and is presently a Registered Nurse working in Vail, Colorado.

Kirstie, a fine soccer player in her own right, decided to make her own name and avoid her older sister’s shadow by playing for her high school field hockey team, a perennial state championship contender. Kirstie started in the backfield of one of the stingiest defenses in the history of the school’s storied program. Kirstie, always wanting to blaze her own path, went to Ohio University, where she earned a degree in Communications. After a stint as a Ski Instructor for Vail Resorts in Vail, Colorado, she returned to Columbus, where she works as an LPN and Patient Coordinator for a Plastic Surgery Group.

Mary, watching her sisters growing up, became a standout in soccer, basketball, and softball but succumbed to the romance of the legends of her school's field hockey pitch, eventually becoming a Captain and the leading scorer of a talent-laden team her senior year. As a result of one of her goal-scoring sprees, Mary was named a Columbus Dispatch Player of the Week. After Ski Instructing at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, Mary has returned to Ohio where she will continue working toward her degree in Early Childhood Education.

Glouster, named for the town from which he hails, Glouster the family pit mix, completes the humble Schons household.
